FAREWELL TO ROMIE
We had to say goodbye to Romie yesterday afternoon. He was 14 years old and lived a full life. Romie's job at home was to "guard the yard," and he'd trot around the perimeter of the fence and bark to warn would-be intruders.
I'd have to say he had more "romantic" tendencies than Sargent did. I'd often whisper to him after he'd finish his food, "Romie's my little man, but don't tell Sargent!" (Of course, I'd do the same with Sargent when Romie was out of earshot ;)
This makes three dogs we've lost in just over two years . . . as with the Gretta and Abby, we will miss Romie terribly--I'm sure Sargent & Angel will too.
Goodbye, little man . . . love you bunches.
